This family room belongs to a couple who both work full time and like to travel.  In other words, they are very busy.  On top of that, they built a new home, which requires an immense investment of time.

When building a new home, one must select all the flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, paint colors, counter surfaces, etc., just to keep the builder on schedule.  Then one still has to figure out what to put on the windows and walls, and how to furnish it.  So they called me to help them make the right decisions in a timely manner.

As for the furnishings, the casegoods all belonged to the client, as did the lamps.  We added the sofa, two chairs, and a custom-made area rug.  The windows have wood blinds; I designed the valances over them to create a somewhat festive look in this cheerful room.  Lastly of course, we accessorized it.

The end result is a beautiful, inviting family room for people too busy to make it happen on their own.
